Description: The papers consist of: Application form and land documents to support the application submitted by Robert Gillow Elliott; history of the family's ownership; Plan of Mangatahi; `The Mangatahi Settlement, particulars, terms and conditions', 1907 (photocopy of printed material). Original owner was Robert William Andrew Elliott who acquired 568 acres of the Mangatahi Block by ballot in 1907. On his death in 1933 the farm was run as an estate by his wife Ruby. After her death it was farmed in partnership by their children Joyce and Robert. After three years Robert leased his sister's share, until 2003 when he bought her out.
