Description: Political and social cartoons published in the Waikato Times from July 2002 onward. Part of the NZ Cartoon Archive Allan Hawkey was born 1941 in Invercargill, and raised in Timaru. From 1982-1990, he published cartoons in the Timaru Herald with the signature, 'Hawkeye'. In 1990, he left the Timaru Herald and took up a banking appointment in Fiji. Upon returning to New Zealand, he settled in Hamilton, and his cartoons have been published in the Waikato Times since 1998, and on a daily basis since January 2001.
