Description: Early operation of Reid New Zealand Rubber Mills Ltd, and factory staff from 1934. Included is a photograph of George Reid and a group of men with samples of the first batch of rubber produced by the firm. An exterior view and interiors of Reid's factory at Ellerslie Auckland from about 1950 to 1958. Included are - a view of the the entrance foyer. The electrical control room. Machines for manufacturing tyres and Reidoprene products, particularly sheets of sponge rubber. Many of the photographs show these products being manufactured.
