Description: Copy of a carving of a chief and his wife greeting each other. The woman has more tattooing on her face than was customary in Robley's day in the 1860s. The forehead moko is `Maketu' and the mouth moko is `Ngaiterangi'. Shoulders are covered with whakairo. The carving was taken to England by Lord Onslow and put up ay Clandon Park, Surrey. Theatre Royal, Saturday 16th August 1873, under the distinguished patronage of His Excellency the Governor and Lady Fergusson, the proceeds to be devoted to the formation of a library for the Wellington Hospital.
