Description: Chromolithograph from the late 19th or early 20th century, depicting Speight's City Brewery, Dunedin, with brick buildings on both sides of a city street, sloping down to the harbour in the background. There is a tram and several horse drawn carts on the street. Instructions on the verso for the use of this "Permanent opalescent window sign": Dip sign in water 20 seconds Lay sign on glass, window or door pane Lay a piece of hard paper over sign and squeeze out water with side of a pencil Next day dealer's clerk soaks paper with water and lifts paper from sign or paper will come off first time window is washed. One is Newbolds Bookshop at 394 George Street. The other is Kelvinator House at 388 George Street. Between the two is a sign for Holsum Bread. Three cars can be seen on the street.
