Description: Cadastral map, with topographical information, of the Taupo District, showing numbered Maori land blocks. Includes the area from Te Poua Kani, eastwards to Te Kowhatu Whakairo, southwards to the Mohaka River and Mangatainoko, and westwards to Te Kohatu. Land blocks sited include Kaimanawa, Tapapa, Te Matai, Wharetoto, Waikare Mohaka, Runanga, Pohokura, Tauhara, Tauranga, Pukahunui, Kaingaroa, Paeroa, Whakamaru, Maraetai and Okahukura. The land north of Rotoaira and west and northwest of Lake Taupo has not been divided into blocks. The northeastern land blocks have been coloured blue, the southern blocks brown. Native (Maori) land is highlighted between Paeroa and Tauhara North. Map also shows Maori placenames, rivers, bush areas and other topographical features. Quantity: 1 manuscript map(s). Description: Manuscript map of land in the Kaweka Ranges, between Mangatoatoa, Kotuku, and Pukunui hills and Rangaatawhau which borders the Mohaka River, depicting Maori land claims. Shows the area concerning the land claim of ?Waka Takapari Warirongi and others', the division line of the claims, and the area concerning ?Whetu aeo Taekatiu Uiaka. Note on map reads '480 pounds paid'. Other placenames on the map include: Ngaruroro [River], Waiharekeke, Rewarewa Stream, Makahu Stream, Mangatutu Stream, Ruaahape Hill, Makino.
