Description: Copy of one sheet with three maps comprising a General Plan, Figure 1 and Figure 2. The General Plan shows the junction of the Mongatainoko [i.e. Mangatainoka] and Manawatu Rivers including the main road and Rossline to Napier. The provinces of Wellington and Hawke's Bay are marked and an area of Government land. Figure 1 is an enlargement of the Mongatainoko [i.e. Mangatainoka] River crossed by the main road. Includes two limits of deviation, a Maori track. An area of totara bush is marked. Figure 2 is an enlargement of the junction of the Tiraumea and Manawatu Rivers, the latter is crossed by the main road. Includes two limits of deviation, Ngawapurua Maori Settlement and Maori cultivations. An area of low ground is marked. Enlarged scales have been used for Figures 1 and 2. Handwritten note, partly printed, on middle left of map: This is the plan marked P.W.D.7961 deposited by me in the Post Office at Woodville, County of Waipawa, in compliance with the 21st and 22nd sections of The Public Works Act, 1876. Description: A cadastral base map, part of the Lower Hutt Borough, includes the boundary between it and Lower Hutt County, and showing the location of the Gracefield Estate, with Park, Gracefield and Wainuiomata Roads. Sections include acreages, deed plan numbers also numbers relating to Hutt and Harbour Regional Districts. Added topographic detail in the form of contours has been added between the Gracefield Estate and the Wainuiomata Hill Road. Four proposed roads leading to tunnels which are referred to in a key, converge on an adjacent peak of 385 feet, when the grade commences. The second map is a cadastral map of Gracefield Estate published by the auctioneers Messrs H. Ernest Leighton Ltd., offered for sale on 9th April 1927 at the site. A note about terms of payment, lot numbers and details of the Eastbourne bus to catch to the Park Road stop are included. Some sections are stamped as sold.
