A wreath can be seen laid at the base of the statue. Photograph taken by William A Price, possibly on the death or anniverary of the death of Sir John Logan Campbell, who died in Jun 1912. Inscriptions: Photographer's title on negative - bottom left - Cornwall Park. Auckland. 735 The fountain and statue were erected at the Manukau Road entrance to Cornwall Park by public subscription in appreciation of the donor's generosity.
