Description: Shows a view of a row of houses along the top of a rise, including those (from left) of Captain Denny, Major Matson, Colonel Wynyard, and Captain Cockraft, with the Treasury buildings to the right, including a small sentry-box on the far right. Across the lower part, a road passes two small buildings on the left and one on the right (St Paul's School). Reproduced in 'The Lively Capital' by Una Platts (Auckland, Avon Fine Prints, 1971), p. 151. The houses along the hilltop are described as fronting on to Princess Street.
