Description: Team of horses hauling a wagon laden with sawn timber on the beach near Karekare. There are piles of timber stacked on long wooden framework. Photograph taken by Albert Percy Godber, circa 1915-1916. This image is a film copy negative taken by Godber from a print in his album Vol 101, p 19 (PA1-o-195), including the inscription in the album which reads "Carting timber on the beach". Description: Large team of horses hauling a log to the mill at Horopito. Photograph taken by Albert Percy Godber. According to Wise's Post office Directory (1921 edition, p 2343) the Horopito Mill was owned by the Berg Brothers. Inscriptions: Album page - The timber industry. Horopito. 2/21. Note on the back of the file print reads "Horse train. Ohakune. 1909" but this does not match the information in Godber's Album (Vol 109, p 136 (PA1-q-102) with an original print of this image, and which has the inscription "The timber industry.
