Description: An extensive view of Parihaka village, with a meeting house on the right, a large number of low houses within fences in the centre and a white European house (Te Whiti's house) in the background to the left, at the edge of the bush. Probably dated some time after the event by the artist. By 1882, much of Parihaka was badly damaged, whereas it is shown apparently intact in this view Exhibited at 'Picturing Paradise; the colonial watercolours of William Fox' Exhibition at National Library Gallery 25 February - 18 June 2000; Hocken Library, Dunedin, 11 September - 15 October 2000.
