Description: Shows a view of Wellington Harbour from Kelburn. There is flowering broom or gorse in the foreground, the houses of Kelburn in the middle distance, the harbour beyond, Somes Island, and the distant area of Lower Hutt. The smoke of a small fire rises from the Thorndon area. Inscriptions: Backing board recto - top centre - [Title]; Backing board recto - top right - Left to L M Lysaght by F Pharazyn 1926. Quantity: 1 oil(s). Physical Description: Oil on canvas, 298 x 726 mm (sight) Provenance: Donated by Mrs Mary Watt, through the Lysaght family in 2002. Bequeathed by Frances Pharazyn, the donor's grandmother, to Louisa M Lysaght in 1926.

Description: View through a gap in native bush in the foreground to houses and a church, with bush on the far side of the settlement. A small stream and a bridge can also be seen. Date of 1870s sugggested, since the artist's marriage in 1870 gave her Masterton connections. Described in McArthur's catalogue as View of Masterton but wrongly ascribed to Charles Johnston Pharazyn, husband of the artist. Inscriptions: Recto - bottom right - F. M. P.
