Description: In the first frame Prime Minister prepares to start a race in which the runners are from left, National Party MPs: Duncan MacIntyre, Derek Quigley, Jim Bolger and Bill Birch. The frame on the right shows Labour Party David Lange in a boxing match with leader Bill Rowling. Context: The summer sports season was underway and National were choosing a deputy from MacIntyre, Quigley, Bolger and Birch.
