Description: Shows a view looking down from a rocky outcrop (partially seen in the extreme left foreground), on to the field of a farm with horses, cattle, a farmhouse, outbuildings, and at far right a haystack. A row of trees runs along one of the boundaries of the property, parallel to the river in the background. On the far side of the river are limestone cliffs and hills. The locality is more commonly known as Clifden, and Cyclopedia of New Zealand, volume 4, Otago and Southland, decribes it as having been a large sheep station.
