Description: View of the triple archway and flagpole (known as Princes Gate) at the entrance leading from Hinemaru Street to Queens Drive and to the gardens of the Government Sanatorium and Baths. On either side of the entranceway is a wooden fence made from decorated palings with carved Maori figures on the fence posts. The Tudor Towers bathhouse (built 1906-1907) can be seen in the distance behind the archway on the right. The Tudor Towers bathhouse (built 1906-1907) can be seen in the distance. A girl pushing a pram and a young child are in the gardens just inside the entranceway. Photograph taken by William A Price, sometime after the bathhouse was completed in 1907, and before or after Nov 1908 when a dated photograph shows the entrance way had decorated palings on either side with carved Maori figures on the posts.
