Description: View of Omoto Road with railway track running alongside the Grey River, West Coast. A cottage and vegetable garden beside the river in foreground. The Cobden Railway Bridge (Bridge 1. Rapahoe) in background, with houses of Cobden just visible behind. Photograph taken by William Williams Additional information from researcher: The building to the right of the railway line is the old pump-house for the Greymouth water supply. There was a reservoir much higher above the road that supplied the town. The Cobden Railway Bridge (Bridge 1 Rapahoe) was completed in 1898 as part of the railway north from Greymouth. It was demolished in mid-2006 (see www.ipenz.org.nz).
