OUR PRINTING MACHINERY. Some months ago, we gave our readers a description of the new Web Printing Machine which had been brought into use by the Lyttelton Times Company, to secure the more rapid issue of their newspapers. We now present our readers with a woodcut Illustration of the Machine, which proves to be excellent in working. The leading principle, it will be remembered, is that from the pages of type, casts in solid metal are taken, in a curved form. These are arranged upon cylinders, between which the paper passes. The rolls of paper used each contain a length of upwards of four miles. (Star, 06 August 1887)
