THE GOLDEN BEACH DREDGE, MOLYNEUX RIVER, FROZEN IN. From the accompanying view the leader may form a fair idea of the severity of the frost in the Otago goldfields during the past winter. The ice, which was eight inches in depth in the paddock, was so strong that the dredge hands could work on it with a forge in full blast. The photo is by Mr J. McEachen, Alexandra.
