Criterion Furlong's. Colin. fc>t. Mary's Okeys Mount Hotel. Church. Foundry. Ksjmout. This view was takeu from the hill facing the railway fitation, and shows the back premises of Mr \\ . A. Colhs. photographer, and Professor Furlong, hairdresser, whose premises were twice ontered by the back door, and the place robbed. The three-stoned building which isproimclenttotlio left of the picture is the Criterion Hotel, kept by Mr V>'. Cottier, iv which Wallath was captured by Mr Harold Thomson. It was in the clump of troos at the back of St. Mary's Church that Wallath tied his horse, aud came down by the side of Okoy'a foundry into a passage running dow v the sid^oj; the Criterion Hotel. SKETCH PLAN OF CRITERION HOTEL. The; above sketch plan will give some idea of the positions of tho different parties when Wallath was captured by Mr Harold Thomson. The accused is represented by an astemk {*), wboeuterefl tho hotol by the side door(*l). He then passed Mr Simmons (marked s), who was standing talking to Mrs Cottier (marked c), who was insido the bar. Wallath here presented a pistol at Mra Cottier (*2). and then walked along tho passage, Mr H. Thomson was at the side bar (m arkeft Tl), between the privato office and the parlor. Seeing what was transpiring, he ran into the main passage and towards the stairs, where he met Wallath, and t��w encounter took place C 3). Mr Holmes followed, and wab at tho spot marked h when tho pistol was fired. The three fell ou tht floor, with Wallath under, at tho spot (marked t'3) where the first eneouuter took place.
