Sport and General" Photo. This picture shows the damage to the bridge over the Albert Canal at Maastricht, the bombing of which ivas the cause of an epic story cabled last week. R.A.F. volunteers were called for to carry out the fob. Four bombing crews were chosen by ballot and left immediately, escorted by fighters. Of the four cretvs only one man came back, but the bridge at Maastricht was blown up. (Evening Post, 04 June 1940)
