Photographs relating to the Canterbury earthquakes of 2010 and 2011 taken by Ross Becker on 4 September 2011 in the Cashmere Hills, and Christchurch City CBD areas.
Images taken in Cashmere show the damaged Cashmere Hills Presbyterian Church, a digger and truck at site of the Anglican Church, a view of the city from Overdale Drive, families cycling on Cashmere Road, and the closed Sign of the Takahe building. Images taken at The Big Hug event in the Botanical Gardens to commemorate the first anniversary of September 4 2010 show people hugging, pipe band, busker with recorder, the organising team.
Images taken in Christchurch City show: Hotel Grand Chancellor, Bridge of Remembrance, memorials on the cordon fence, Clarendon Tower, demolition of Old City Library in Cambridge Terrace, damaged old Municipal Council Chambers in Worcester Street, Gloucester Street, and damaged Provincial Chambers, Durham Street.
Arrangement: Files were originally delivered to the Library in a folder called "CEQ 13 - Sept 03-06 2011/Sept 04 - Takahe, city, big hug"
