Bridge of Remembrance (Christchurch, N.Z.)

World War One memorial archway at the east end of the Cashel Street Bridge (built 1873) over the Avon River, Christchurch. Designed by William Gummer, of Prouse and Gummer. The memorial was unveiled on Armstice Day 11 November 1924.

The bridge was closed to motorised traffic in 1976. Damaged in the 2011 Canterbury earthquake. Strengthened and repaired 2013-2015, reopening to the public in April 2016.

Registered as a Heritage New Zealand category I structure no. 289.
