Sound recordings and associated papers related to a two day conference titled "Cartoonists Convention" hosted by New Zealand Cartoon Archive, and held at the National Library of New Zealand on 21 and 22 June 2001. Recordings were made by Alexander Turnbull Library staff.
Participants included leading New Zealand cartoonists, and three Australian cartoonists. The recordings include the welcome and opening session, and four workshops run by Lindsay Foyle and Rod Emmerson; Bob Brockie; Sir Geoffrey Palmer; and Gavin Ellis and Frank Stefanski; an illustrated lecture by Alan Moir titled "Under the Thumb"; and a panel discussion titled "The business of being a cartoonist".
Speakers at the Convention include Alan Moir, Garrick Tremain, Malcolm Evans, Malcom Walker, David Fletcher.
Attendees include Alastair Nisbet, Peter Bromhead, Paul Ekers, Jim Hubbard, Tony Scott, Lorenzo Van Der Lingen, Chris Slane, Ian Grant, and Tom Scott.
