A collection of audiovisual materials, related papers, and digital files which pertain to exhibitions and events associated with the New Zealand Cartoon Archive.
Includes audio recordings of events, such as public lectures, talks, openings, and panel discussions organised by the New Zealand Cartoon Archive and held at the Alexander Turnbull Library and/or National Library of New Zealand.
Also includes audio and video recordings of radio and television news items and programmes which relate to exhibitions and events held by the New Zealand Cartoon Archive; or to cartoonists whose works are collected by the Archive.
Most speakers featured are New Zealand cartoonists; some visiting international cartoonists are included. Incldues a digital presentation file associated with a public talk.
Arrangement: Most materials in this collection are associated with a named New Zealand Cartoon Archive event. Therefore materials have been arranged by the archivist according to context of their creation and/or accumulation, where this could be identified. The remaining materials cannot be associated with an event.
The New Zealand Cartoon Archive, with the support of the New Zealand Cartoon Archive Trust and the Alexander Turnbull Library, developed an eponymous collection of political editorial cartoons. The Trust holds events, exhibitions, and lectures to support and publicise the collection.
