This album collection covers the period when Geoffrey Cox had published his book on the Russo-Finnish war of 1939-1940 and his appointment as First Secretary to the New Zealand Legation Washington in 1942. Most of the photographs relate to the Crete campaign, and the campaigns in the Middle East and North Africa. Some loose prints record the New Zealand High Commissioner in London, Mr Jordan, visiting New Zealand troops in England
As well as photographs the album contains newspaper cuttings relating to Cox's appointment to the New Zealand Legation in Washington; reviews of his book on the Russo-Finnish War; articles relating to Cox joining the army; article on Daily Express journalists in the army; Sunday Express article by Cox on the Allied advance in Lybia
