- Description
Shows a view of a tree on a promontory between two bays of the Bay of Islands, with the bay on the left showing some signs of settlement (a fence and a stand of trees). In both bays, canoes are pulled up on the shore, and groups of people are engaged in various activities, some on horseback. There are several sailboats out in the harbour, and there may be some settlement on the land to the far right distance, possibly Russell. The closest view is of the activity in the bay in the right foreground. The bay in the left foreground may be Paihia
