Description

Ringatu prayer book containing handwritten translations into Maori of the Old and New testaments in the form of the Israelite Ringatu religion; comprises waiata, hymns, prayers of the Iharaira often re-ordered for the community to chant and sing.

The last entry is dated Tawhana, 11 Feb 1946, and earlier entries appear to date from about 1921 and later. Included is a list of eleven names, probably keepers of the book, and where they lived.
