Description: Photographs taken by an unidentified photographer [probably Sister Euphemia Doull] circa 1922 to 1927. Some photographs have inscriptions on the reverse which has descriptive information and some dates. One has been signed "E. W. D." Includes photographs of: - School children Teki, Wiremu, Matewai and Te Waiti crossing the river to return home from school in Matahi - A group photograph of school children in Matahi - A group of five women (likely including Euphemia W. Doull and her mother) and Māori locals resting somwhere between Maungapōhatu and Ruatāhuna - Two women being helped by Mr W. Loch and his friend to cross the river at Tahwano in 1927 - A visit by the Moderator Mr Kilpatrick and his wife to Matahi Other identified individuals include Miss Bruce, Miss Shannon, Miss Croft, Miss Finlayson, Tenuia Haami, and Tahoe. Also includes a newspaper clipping titled 'A Walk from Matahi to Maugapohatu' by Euphemia W. Doull from 'The Outlook' dated March 9 1925. The article details the walk, over 100 miles long, which Doull undertook with seven friends. Title supplied by Library.
