Description

Shows the buildings of a small Maori village, with a raised storehouse in the centre, buildings to the left and right. The storehouse has three carved figures, one on the ridgepole and one on either end of the sloping bargeboards. In the centre foreground, a small figure tends a horse which is eating from a dish. A calf is tied in the left foreground. Five figures sit on the ground at the left just behind the storehouse. The building at the right is probably a stable and has a saddle hanging on the door. In the background is a low bushcovered hill.
