Description

Shows a field of war graves above which is the title 'Exit plan - Afghanistan'. Above each mass grave is a cross bearing the names 'Britain', 'Russia', 'USA' and 'Friends'; the grave headed Russia is filled in while the others remain open. Refers to the Soviet-Afghan War that began in 1979 and ended in 1988 and now the Afghan War led by the USA and Britain which is attempting to rid Afghanistan of Taleban insurgents. It is widely believed that Afghanistan is the "incubator" for attacks such as the September 11, 2001 attack on the United States. The 'friends' grave includes New Zealand because the government has committed SAS troops to several tours of Afghanistan.
