Description

Inward correspondence and some outward drafts. Includes copies of letters to family from Europe and many letters from friends in German to Hall, mostly from Hamburg (1840-1843); correspondence with J S Neall, J Buller re Rakaia River Station, J Fountaine re Rakaia River Station, and New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co Ltd. See also letter books [Series 6], correspondence volumes [Series 7], and diaries [Series 9]. All the correspondents of the letters have been input in the Name field; as the letters are filed chronologically, only the first letter from a particular person is entered in the Name field for that folder.
