Description: Circular cardboard tops, used before the advent of metal foil tops. They were pushed down inside the bottle-rim. Each top shows the day of the week of the delivery. The milk tops are stamped in green ink, the cream tops in red ink. There are two green milk tops for each day of the week, except for Sunday when there are three. There are also red cream (40% double cream) tops, one for Friday, two for Saturday and one for Sunday. For an illustration of the use of these tops, see poster image at Eph-D-HEALTH-1940s-01.
