12 interviews conducted by Natalie Looyer between March 2018 and March 2019 regarding the life and legacy of Marion Steven.

Description provided by donor: "Miss Marion Steven is best known for founding the James Logie Memorial Collection of Greek and Roman Antiquities at the University of Canterbury in New Zealand. This oral history project with Marion’s family, friends, past students and colleagues reveals the depth of her character and her lasting influence on the lives of those who were close to her."

The interviews cover Steven’s: personal life and family relationships; professional life; academic achievements; contributions to academia, education, and local community; character and personal values; independence; achievements as a woman; generosity; and approach to teaching.

Project received Award in Oral History Funding from Manatū Taonga Ministry for Culture and Heritage in 2018.

Title provided by donor. Also referred to as "Bringing Classical Antiquities to Aotearoa", "The Marion Steven Oral History Project" and "An Oral History on the Life of M.K. Steven" in project documentation.
