Most of the portraits are of unidentified men, women, children, and family groups. One photograph is identified as Elizabeth Warren (nee Holmes). Identified photographers are Morris (Dunedin), J M McGregor, J Gaul, Burton Brothers, Ross & Pringle, A Johnston, Hemus & Hanna, Clifford, and Herrmann.
There is one amateur photograph, taken by an unidentified photographer, of a group at Underwood, circa 1900.
