Description: Manuscript and ephemera relating to Pearce family travel to Canada on board the RMS 'Miowera' and to their later time in the United Kingdom and Egypt on the same vacation, 1897-1898. Include material relating to performances with printed and handwritten programmes for shows at the Criterion Theatre (London), on board the RMS 'Miowera', and at an unknown venue. Pearce family album

Description: Album of and relating to the family of Arthur Edward and Annie Vida Kate Pearce, 1893-1894. Identified photographers are Mr Travers, C Pearce, Miss Holroyd, and Lady Dorothy Boyle. The Pearce's Lowry Bay family house 'Te Namu' is photographed a number of times. Also pictured in Lowry Bay is 'The Lodge', the wharf, and a coastal scene. House 'Makaki' and Government House are both photographed in 1894. Photographs of house interior scenes are likely at 'Te Namu'. Children Kitty and Bertha Clifford with Topsy, Pickle [Agnes Isobel Pearce], and Mary [Vida Pearce] are identified in captions. Lord Kelburne and Miss Thurston are photographed sitting at the foot of a tree. Family scenes show Annie Vida Kate and Arthur Edward Pearce with their two girls on a balcony. The two Pearce girls are also photographed clutching their toys. A Christmas group photograph from 1893 features the Pearce family. Album also contains recreation scenes. Groups are pictured picnicking at Karaka Bay (October 1894) and Lowry Bay (January 1894). Photographs also include river and swimming scenes. Description: Photograph album of Arthur Edward and Annie Vida Katie Pearce family photographs and Wellington recreation scenes, circa early 1900s. Contains group portrait of women and boy golfers as well as numerous portraits of the Pearce family [and relatives?] on the balcony and steps of their house 'Te Namu' in Lowry Bay as well as in a garden. Also horse riding and bicycle riding scenes, including a trip to the coast. A portrait of Nathaniel and Agnes seated on a pony and a house interior, possibly 'Te Namu', are also included. Captions identify some people and places though people are often identified by initials. Holiday locations visited are England, Scotland, Isle of Wight, Alberquerque, Papeete, Tahiti, and Rarotonga. Photographs show buildings, people, events, and activities. Included in England photographs are military recruitment tents [London?] and Hyde Park Gate with spotlight mounted on it in 1914. Description: Agnes Isobel Pearce's photograph album of family, holiday, and boarding school scenes, 1907 to 1908. Most photographs are captioned with dates, places, and people's initials. Photographers unidentified. Contains holiday photographs from England and Scotland. Locations photographed include Burnham Beeches, Abbotsford, Roslyn Chapel, Melrose, Tintagel, Plymouth, Inverness Castle, and a number of sites in the Lake District (such as Wordsworth lodging house, Ruskin's Grave, Market House at Keswick, and Derwentwater). Boating pictures include scenes from 'Riverside' and views from on board a boat travelling on the Caledonian Canal. The sailboat 'Onari' is photographed on the English Channel. A Pearce family portrait is taken on the deck of the SS 'Athenic'. DC and WS Aden are photographed in the crow's nest of a boat. Wycombe Abbey School building and Barry House building are also photographed. School sports events, including a canoe race between houses, and house expeditions are also included. Mary Vida Pearce and World War One album

Description: Photograph album of Wellington and World War One scenes, 1900-1918. Photographer(s) unidentified. The portion of the album with captions is likely compiled by Mary Vida Pearce. Contains photograph of ponies and a garden at Lowry Bay as well as Wellington Harbour and wharf scenes, including a dredge. Shipboard scenes on the SS 'Athenic' show the bridge and deck with Miss Reece (photographed skipping), Mr Jones (First Officer), and Mr Morrow (Third Officer) identified. Album also includes photographs of street scenes and buildings in Vannes and Auray (France) and harbour and town scenes in Padstow (England). World War One photographs, which do not have captions, show military personnel [medics?] ouside a tent with the number "5" written on its side. Soldiers are also photographed in a trench with machine guns and rifles as well as resting in the shade. Also includes a photograph of a military convoy with horses and carts and a beach scene. Photographs of aerial and naval operations include aircraft crashed in the sea and a zepplin in flight. Donor's note that accompanied album read: "First part of album could have been done by Mary Vida Pearce (later Hodson). Second part - no idea!" Description: Photograph album relating to New Zealand Golf Championships, 1911 and 1912, in Heretaunga and Nelson. Some photographs are inscribed "Zak" [Joseph Zachariah] but otherwise photographers are unidentified. Photographs of New Zealand Championship in October 1911 at Heretaunga include group portraits, photographs taken on the links during the competition (including spectators), and the surrounds (river, golf house). Portraits of competitors include Miss L Brandon (New Zealand Champion 1911), Mrs G Williams (winner "Mellsop" Cip 1911), Mrs Orbell, Miss Wray, Mrs Cllins, Miss Vida Collins, and Agnes Isobel Pearce. Also includes some group photographs. Governor-General John Dickson-Poynder is photographed during the competition and presenting the trophy to Miss L Brandon. Photographs of the New Zealand Championship of 1912 in Nelson are also included. They show shipboard scenes of travelling to the competition on board the SS 'Pateena', photographs of Vida Collins and Agnes Pearce playing, relaxing, and releasing a carrier pigeon.
