A scrapbook of clippings and photographs relating to Māori topics, including the tangihanga (funeral) of King Tawhiao, and other hui.
Photographs include images of the Pink and White Terraces; the Ponsonby Regatta in 1895; 'Wairarapa' shipwreck 1894; Treaty of Waitangi facsimile'; portraits of Māori men including an unknown man dressed in a top hat, coat, and shorts; Ruka Aratapu dressed in a kāhu huruhuru; an unknown Māori man posing naked holding a taiaha, crouched on the side; Patara Te Tuhi, Patara Te Ngungukai; Tawhiao's tangihanga; the Premier (Richard Seddon) at Huntly hosted by King Mahuta in 1898; the "Ngeangea" and "Kia Ora" bands at Waahi in 1898, and other images of this hui at Waahi, including Sir James Carroll in 'Taheretikitiki' and other waka on the [Waikato?] river; and images of Māori women doing various activities.
The clippings relate to the Rotorua Lakes, Taupō, Waikato and Taranaki regions. Includes clippings of artworks by T Ryan, and A Martin, including a colour lithograph of 'Te Heuheu's Old Pah of Waitahanui at Taupo Lake'.
