Postcard has an embroidered panel showing a New Zealand flag, a crown and a wreath with "NZ Onward", the Army's logo.
The verso show a handwritten message from 5/1729 Dick: "Dear Ethel, Just a line to answer your dear old letter you would not know how it is to get a word from one you are thinking of. We are in France and are having not to [sic] good of a time as it is cold but otherwise are in good health. I suppose, dear, you had a good time Xmas and now it is Easter so I will wish you all sorts of a good time. Paddy is all right. I am sending Ruby a card next so you can get wild, but I am a little bit away so I am not frightened of you. I don't know what you called yourself a [crinder?] for so I no different. I remain 5/1729 Dick"
