Transcriptions of William Swainson's journal of his travel to Brazil as a member of Henry Koster expedition 1816-1818; journal of tour of Lake Country and Scotland, by Frederic Parkes, together with a letter by Mary Parkes 1818; journal of tour of France by Mary and William Swainson 1828, including letters by Mary Swainson to her parents, and a memoir of an emigre French nobleman, the Marquis de Lys, who was connected to the Parkes family. Includes pencil sketch and loose notes on Brazil by William Swainson, tipped in newspaper cutting and sketch of a piper by Henry Swainson.
