Shipboard diary of an unknown immigrant, who left Egremont, Cumberland to sail to New Zealand via Hobart. Describes the fairly uneventful voyage in detail; includes descriptions of Hobart and Wellington, as well as his subsequent voyage on the Mapourika to Greymouth and hi impressions of Runanga where he was to work. Signatures, names and addresses of his fellow travellers (?) cover the inside covers of the diary. Actual identity of the writer unknown (Internal evidence suggests either the name Brereton or Culling)
