Description

Shows a ship portrait of the steam and sail ship Lusitania from the side, in mid-ocean.

Date taken from State Library of Victoria catalogue (Retrieved from http://www.slv.vic.gov.au). This site also states that the engraving appeared in the Illustrated Australian news, published in Melbourne by Ebenezer and David Syme. The site also quotes the following, presumably also from the Illustrated Australian news: "the ship is built by Messrs. Laird Bros., of Birkenhead, it carries canvas as well; it is the pioneer of a new line to trade between London and Melbourne and made the trip in record time".
