Description

Profile portraits at the top of the image of "Native of King George Sound" (an Aboriginal) and of "New Zealander" (A Maori man), and, in the lower section, a seated group portrait after Augustus Earle's portrait of Te Rangituke of the Bay of Islands, with his wife and son. Te Rangituke holds a taiaha, and his son, seated to the right, holds a musket.

The main portrait is after an oil painting held by the Library 'Portrait of Arangi Tooker' (G-634).
