A woman in female version of a battle dress of the time leading female troops into battle.
Extended Title - (With apologies to Miss Benjamin.) Miss Benjamin (the lady lawyer) at the Southern Cross Society's meeting on 30th ult. - 'Women were excused from military service, all the burden of defence was thrown on men, and the only share women took in warfare was the relief of suffering. Perhaps in time to come they might take a more active part, as their physique was developed by physical training.'
