- Description
Photographs of Campbell Island, its birds, animals, and plants. The ship "Tagua." A flying boat on the water. The men's quarters and vegetable garden. Men hauling a roller and setting up a water wheel. Views of the radio transmitting station, and its equipment.
Photographs of the Kermadec Islands all relate to Raoul Island, and record something of the life of the men stationed there. As well as the New Zealanders a small workforce of youths from Niue took part in the operation. Photographs show New Zealanders and Niueans clearing vegetation, building a road, butchering cattle, working a crane on the waterfront landing place, landing supplies, and harvesting oranges. Others show vegetable gardens, and a nursery of unidentified trees.
