Proof copy of proclamation in English and Maori from Sir George Grey to the chiefs and tribes of the Waikato. Note by George Didsbury of the `Southern Cross', `Will Mr Gisborne be good enough to state what is to be done with the proclamation', with note by W Fox to Dr Shortland, `How many copies number struck off?' (24 Jun 1864), followed by Shortland's note asking Disbury for the number to which he replied `None' and lastly the instruction signed by Fox, `Strike of 25 copies & then distribute the type. W Fox'.
