A view from the north front of J. C. Crawford's house "Miramar" on the Miramar Peninsula (originally the [W]Hataitai Peninsula) showing the house with a woman and child on the front verandah and a second house to its right, looking to the south west, towards Lyall Bay, with part of Rongotai and Kilbirnie to the left and the Houghton Bay hills in the background. Cabbage trees and flax in the left foreground. The house has a fence around its garden. The house was built in 1840.
