- Description
A portrait of two Maori boys, the one on the left seated, the right-hand one standing. Both are dressed in flax cloaks and have distinctive feathers in their hair, possibly pheasant feathers
One of four proof lithographs on a single sheet measuring 447 x 285 mm. All four are derived from lithographs by G. F. Angas in The New Zealanders illustrated (London, 1847). This is adapted from the left side of a lithograph titled Poahu and E Koti, two lads of Poverty Bay, Plate 33. The copyist's title is inaccurate, in that the original subjects were from Poverty Bay (Gisborne Region), not Hauraki (Waikato or Bay of Plenty Region)
