Eight small notebooks comprising a journal of Collins' experiences, work and social life while working near Madang. Records names of people, villages, their distances and heights, the animals and birds he saw, missions and details of company life at Madang. Includes a brief introduction by his daughter, Jill Goodwin.

Collins, a geologist, was employed by the Island Exploration Company and based at Madang and at Atemble. He went on several expeditions to the surrounding country.
