Photographs of New Caledonia and the Loyalty Islands, Vanuatu, and the Solomon Islands. Included are views of principle towns their buildings and people. Places and Islands in New Caledonia are Noumea, the east coast, the Isle of Pines, Ile Nou, Ile Ouen, and Ile Amedee; in the Loyalty Islands, Lifou, Mari, and Ouvea; in Vanuatu, Espiritu Santo, Aoba, Tongoa, Penticost, and Tanna; in the Solomon Islands, Guadalcanal, and Malaita; in Western Samoa, Savaii and Apia.

Photographs depict traditional and European buildings, scenic views of beaches, and other landscapes, and in some places tourists. But most of the photographs are of the local people in groups or individuals, or at work fishing, weaving, gardening, at school, pumping water, killing a pig, preparing food, eating, and playing. A few images from the Solomon Island section show the wreckage of aircraft from the Second World War.
