Relationship complexity - Mrs Hoskins has donated other family papers to the Catholic Archdiocese archives in Hill St: her own papers relating to her membership of the Island Bay Children of Mary; and records relating to Catholic Supplies NZ Ltd (-2004), which was managed successively by her husband's grandfather Paul Hoskins, his father Stan Hoskins, and her husband, Peter Hoskins.

John Philps and Catherine (nee Turner) emigrated to Wellington, New Zealand, on New Zealand Company ship 'Lord William Bentinck' in 1841. They travelled with five children Henry, Frances (Fanny), Emma, Jacob and Harriet Ellen. Frances married 1) Edward Phelan and 2) John Fitzgerald. Her daughter Edith Agnes (Sissy) Fitzgerald married William Henry Nimmo and had ten children, living in Standen Street, Karori from 1907. Edith Nimmo was cared for in later life by daughter Kathleen Frances Viard Nimmo (who lived in Auckland and worked as a P&T telgraphist when younger).

Another daughter Sybil Edith Nimmo married Sidney James Anton (1898?-1970). They were the parents of Barbara Hoskins. Sybil Anton worked at the Eastern Extension Cable Co. in Nathan's building on Lambton Quay, Wellington. Sidney Anton went to World War One on board the transport ship "Tahiti" and worked at Wellington Plumbing Supplies.
