Description: Postcard with a handwritten message of thanks to the child Lyla Tremewan from soldier G Elliott, who writes: "Thank you very much for parcel; it was very nice of you to think of us out here. I think it so kind. G Elliott". The rubber postmark stamp is dated 22 December 1918. The campaign for the sending of Christmas greetings and messages to soldiers was organised by Wellington mayoress Jacobina Luke. Lyla Tremewan was eight years old in 1918.
